2013 fitness regime

A belated Happy New Year. The festive time seems to build up so slowly and be over in a heart beat.

This year Lucas was a little more aware about Christmas, not with the meaning of it of course, but he loved the lights and the Father Christmas Tree, as he called it! Taking the decorations down was an ordeal, as he was confused as too how these things were up for a while then just gone! Even today he is still asking for the tinsel and lights!

Christmas was hectic but nice. The family were at ours with mother in law having a free run of the kitchen!

But to make Christmas even more busy, as we all want that don't we?! We decided to put our house up for sale in December. We could have waited with the rest of the population and done it in spring, but thought we would steal a bit of time. It worked, as within 24 hours we had had three viewings and sold within a couple of weeks.

We knew we would sell it quickly, but gosh it's stressful with tying it in with getting a house you like etc. So fingers crossed we will be moving in two weeks.

We love our house – so why the move? It's all in anticipation of Lucas starting school and being nearer Grandma. Things are easy at the moment as he is not on a set routine, but soon... Well it all changes!

So I have learnt a lot about Ofsted reports and entrance criteria as the school we wanted for him only had a 900m admission radius. 900m for gods sake! Kind of narrowed down the house search area!

The new year was entered into by me as a freshly engaged woman! After seven years of waiting my OH popped the question. I was in bed with the norovirus when he asked! So looking and feeling awful, but that cheered me up! No romantic setting here and he slept that night in the spare room, so not to catch it! Its never been a big deal for me getting married, but now with Lucas we want the family completed all with the same name!

Lucas is doing brill. He is so funny and I love his development. His speaking is great and continues to entertain us all. Such a happy boy, that yes, drives me round the bend sometimes, but is the best.

So a new year brings a house move, wedding plans (when I get around to it, as autumn 2014 is the plan) and of course work and a new goal. I'm been retired nearly eight years and I am probably wrongly proud of the fact I do no exercise what so ever and stay slim! I need to get some fitness back, but want to do it in a different way. Hence I'm going to get up and active (with some blowing too start with as I'm unfit) with David Haye's'DVD...

I like the thought of not leaving my house to do exercise, this significantly increases the chances of me actually doing it!

Work wise things are starting to get busy, the indoor athletics season starts with our first big meet in Glasgow then I'm off to infield host the European Indoor Athletics Championships in Gothenburg in March. Add that to moving house, planning a wedding, Lucas's 2nd birthday next month and trying to get fit... It's all go go go!

Between Lucas and work commitments it doesn't leave me the same amount of time that I use to have to train so I decided to get the David Haye 'Box and Tone' DVD. I haven't used fitness DVDs before but wow did this one get me working. First time around I completed the circuit section followed by the ab and core workout and I could definitely feel it the next day. I would certainly recommend it for anyone wanting to kick (or should I say punch) start their 2013 fitness regime!
