This is a small pebble-like device that you put in the shower next to the plug and it basically checks how much water is going down the plug hole. It is designed to raise awareness of your water consumption by monitoring how much water you use in the shower. It memorises your first shower as a benchmark, then gradually sets about reducing the amount of water you use by fractionally reducing your shower time. It does this via a series of traffic lights flashing from green when you start to amber halfway through and finally red when it’s time to get out. It effectively trains you to use less water when you shower making you more ‘eco friendly’.
