5 days to go...

I never imagined what it would be like to stand here, and write a blog one week before the biggest day of my life. It’s surreal. As a girl I grew up just imagining me and the dress (when I was playing White Dress Bride) or sari (when I was playing Indian Bride with my mum’s old saris). There was never a thought about the groom, the money, the tasks, or in fact, ever blogging about the whole shebang, but here I am everybody!

I had my final Indian dress fitting today. It was a  bit of a palaver as the dress is too big and the under-skirting is all a bit wrong, so that got me and my mum and sister in a flap and we rushed over to the seamstress and asked her to sort it out pronto. Dad has managed to clear out the garage and garden, all the décor has been selected and finalised, I’ve just got to find ways to relax this week. I know people suggest going to a spa before your big day, but honestly, can someone point me in the direction of those relaxed and calm brides?

As I haven’t a minute to spare! It’s all over to the professionals now, and to my family members who are slowly but surely arriving in droves this week and every night to help out with the favours and small decorating tasks such as filling the confetti cones (my dried petals worked – yippee!). All in all, I am fully in the mindset for an extraordinary week ahead.

Love Konnie xxx
