A new way to tan? At last...

Hurrah that March is finally here!
We’re on the home straight to spring which means lighter nights and the sight of sun (one hopes at least). It also makes skin's golden glow one step closer to reality which is marvellous because I’m getting increasingly irritated with my pale pallor and so is poor Lord Muck who unnervingly seems to have no problem in admitting this to me.
But it’s not my body that’s the cause of concern, it’s my lacklustre complexion. It wouldn't bother me if I had Snow White skin or an English rose paleness but naturally, I’m meant to be somewhere on the more olive scale when it comes to skin tone and right now I’m simply verging into dull territory.
Fake tan is one answer but it can be high maintenance when it comes to your mug so I’ve found my answer in This Works Perfect Look Skin Miracle, £28, thisworks.com (available 22nd March). A miracle indeed. Following on from the success of Perfect Legs that launched last year, it contains the same hint of caramel that helps to give skin a natural flawless glow.
Not so much of a tinted moisturiser as a coloured gel, it smells divinely fruity (not sickly I might add) and is packed full of vitamin E and C to brighten and even out skin tone and Hyaluronic Acid to plump. But the best bit is it takes the edge off any unsightly pastiness. I have no doubt it’s on track to become another cult product.
Incidentally, I’ve also been dabbing on Benefit’s new Sun Beam, £18.50. Not launching until June, it’s like a golden version of Benetint, adding that sun-kissed highlighting effect to cheekbones in a jiffy. With just a smidgen of sparkle, it really does look like you’ve hit the beach in the day and the sun has been kind to you.
Mark it in your diaries now so you can stock up come summer!
