Adorkable: top 10 alternative hunks
Paul Rudd
Paul has been on our radars ever since he starred as Alicia Silverstone's sensible ex-stepbrother in cult '90s chick flick Clueless. And then there was his role as Phoebe's sweet boyfriend Mike in Friends.
Funnyman Paul reappears alongside Friends co-star Jennifer Aniston in Wanderlust - a film which truly tested the boundaries of our Rudd love thanks to a scene involving Paul, a mirror and some toe-curling sexy-talk. We'll say no more than that, you can cringe at it for yourselves when Wanderlust hits UK cinemas on March 2nd.

RELATED:Michael Cera
Arrested Development child star turned Hollywood go-to-geek, Michael mostly reminds us of a string bean wearing a back-to-front wig. Deadpan delivery and sensitive ways make this Canadian actor one of our favourite dorks.
In an interview with Playboy, Michael said 'I like a woman to take control but they're hard to find', so we will be donning a hi-vis vest from now on, just in case the hapless romancer is in the vacinity. Here he is posing with a Nintendo, obvs.

RELATED:Russell Tovey
The British actor has starred in countless TV series since boyhood. Russell notably played reluctant werewolf George in Being Human and, more recently, Steve (the Him) in honest Britcom Him and Her.
Whether it's the sweet roles he takes on, or those trademark ears, Russ seems like a thoroughly lovely, down-to-earth chap. Speaking to The Scotsman on his sexuality, Russell said: 'The only thing I can give to young gay people is that when I was growing up there were no role models that were blokey, that were men. Everybody was flamboyant and camp, and I remember going, 'That's not me, so even though I think I am gay, I don't think I fit into this world.'' Rusell's made a place for himself in the world and that's pretty cool in our book...

RELATED:Chris O'Dowd
Irishman Chris caught mainstream attention as luckless cynic Roy in The IT Crowd and has recently hit the big time playing love interest Officer Rhodes in US smash hit Bridesmaids.
He's looking sharper these days, but Chris stays true to his inherent lack of cool. Speaking of the East London hipsters who inspired his look in upcoming flick This is Forty, Chris said: 'I've never been cool, so watching people for whom that's their life, is intimidating.' Chris is currently in the midst of planning his quirky wedding to writer and presenter fiancée Dawn Porter.

RELATED:John Krasinski
John is best-known for playing Jim in the US Office but has transplanted his talent for portraying smart, sensitive men into a number of big screen projects, most recently in Big Miracle alongside Drew Barrymore.
John's married to actress Emily Blunt, which gives him extra kudos for loving a Brit, and who could resist a man who somehow combines a hunky dash of highschool jock with the friendly face of Fireman Sam? Not us!

RELATED:Louis Theroux
Louis's documentary series trace his adventures within some of America and the UK's oddest communities and family homes. The high entertainment factor comes from Louis's awkward manner and playful innocence, mixed with close-range insight to the strange lives of others.
Explaining the success of Louis Theroux's Weird Weekends, the Gonzo journalist once said 'The show is laughing at me, adrift in their world, as much as at them. I don't have to play up that stuff. I'm not a matinee idol disguised as a nerd.' No sir, he is purebred nerd. We say purebred, there must be a dash of hottie in there as Louis is cousin to Wanderlust actor Justin Theroux.

RELATED:Jason Bateman
Another Arrested Development star, Bateman plays dad to fellow adorkable man Michael Cera's character. Jason struggled with alcohol and drugs in the nineties - he has since referred to the period as 'like Risky Business for 10 years' - but gave up his wild partying for the sake of his marriage to actress Amanda Anka.
Despite his party-heavy past, Jason carries off the harmless and likeable look with finesse. Long-time friend and three-times co-star Jennifer Aniston once said of Jason's past: 'Even though he was pretty wild in those days, something about those dimples and that sweet face made you go, ‘Oh, it’s okay that you just drove up the street backwards in a Range Rover with the door wide open.’ I don’t know what was happening there. You feel instantly safe in his company.'

RELATED:Zach Braff
Oh Zach, there we were leering at Jeremy Sheffield (or 'him off that Natalie Imbruglia video') in Holby City, foolishly thinking he was the ultimate scrubbed-up crush. Then you came along, with your own special brand of witty asides and quirky daydream sequences. And suddenly we knew, there was no better man in hospital uniform than Dr John 'J.D' Dorian.
Actor, screenwriter, producer, director comedian Zach's beautiful idiosyncrasies might have something to do with a long-standing OCD, but that - and his funny, marrow-like face - just do it for us.

RELATED:Leigh Francis
Leigh Francis - aka Keith Lemon or Avid Merrion - is a popular secret crush. The Leeds-born comedian rarely makes public appearances out of character - in the days of Bo' Selecta! he'd often appear as celebrity-stalker Avid and, in recent years, he's been outing his current character - Businessman of the Year '93, Keith. We can't quite put our finger on it, but there's something a little bit sexy about a short, ginger Yorkshireman with a fetish for dressing-up...

RELATED:Daniel Radcliffe
He will probably always be best-known for playing Harry Potter, but Daniel has certainly come into his own in recent years - there was his 2007 starring role in West End and Broadway productions of Equus - promotion of which saw the press flooded with weirdly sexy images of a buff, topless Radcliffe posing against a horse. Dan's most recent project - eerie thriller The Woman in Black - has been well-received, with many critics calling it his coming-of-age film. Good news, because it makes it a bit more acceptable to fancy the well-spoken, slightly-awkward boy-wizard whose party tricks include reciting a song about the periodic table.
