Ingredients
- 750g baking apples, peeled, cored and chopped
- finely grated zest and juice of 1 orange
- pinch of ground cinnamon
- 200g blackberries
- 4-5 tablespoons Splenda granulated sweetener
- 50g butter, melted
- 7 slices white bread, crusts removed

- Preheat the oven to //gas mark
- Put the apples into a saucepan with the orange zest, orange juice and cinnamon. Add tablespoons of water, then simmer without a lid until the apples are tender ? this will take about minutes. Stir in the blackberries, then sweeten to taste with the sweetener.
- Brush a cm straight-sided baking dish or cake tin with melted butter. Brush the rest of the butter over the slices of bread. Place one slice in the base of the dish or tin, reserve one for the top, then fit the rest of the slices around the sides, easing them into place and cutting them to fit so that there are no spaces.
