Use up apples from the fruit bowl in this tasty and versatile sauce. Delicious served with gingernut pancakes
 

Ingredients

  • 450g/ 1 lb apples, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 25-50g/1-2oz sugar
  • 25g/1oz butter (optional)

Directions

  1. Simmer the apples with the water, sugar and butter until a soft puree.
  2. Sieve or liquidise if wished.
