Are you a baby boomer boozer?
If you're aged 45 or over, you fall into the age bracket of people who are more than three times as likely to drink almost every day than younger folk. A report by national charity Alcohol Concern found the cost of hospital admissions in 2010-11 linked to heavy drinking among 55- to 74-year-olds in particular was more than £825m. It may be that you feel you're past the age where you’re likely to succumb to alcohol-related damage or that you’re not drinking enough to make a difference. In fact, what you may regard as relatively modest drinking can have serious repercussions. If you have any doubts, try this quiz and read the advice that pops up with your results. You may be surprised.
