All about Ewan McGregor

Star sign: Aries
Birth details: 31st March 1971

The role of the young Obi-Wan Kenobi fell to Aries Ewan McGregor in the new Star Wars films. A native of Scotland, this young actor was trained in the theatre but has found a home in indie flicks. While his best-known film may be director Danny Boyle's subversive Trainspotting, Ewan has also been featured in Shallow Grave, A Life Less Ordinary, Velvet Goldmine (the faux David Bowie rockumentary) and Moulin Rouge.

Born under an Aries Sun, Ewan is action-oriented - he's always in a hurry to get to his destination. Unfortunately for him, though, most Rams are much better at starting projects then they are at finishing them. Even so, count on the young Scotsman to be domineering and in charge. With his Sun Square mighty Mars, Ewan is not afraid of a fight and, in fact, may have squabbled quite a bit with a stern father. McGregor's Sun is also Opposite rebellious Uranus in the heavens, completing the T-square we see in this chart. There's a lot of challenging energy going on here, and if you think it will weigh heavily on the actor, rest assured, he'll have company - Ewan ensures an interesting life for those around him.

It's a Gemini Moon that marks Ewan as fickle, especially in relationships. The actor will bore easily, especially if the people surrounding him aren't quick-witted (but that's not likely to be his Gemini co-star Neeson). With his Mercury in Aries, he will often speak before he thinks, with little regard for the impact of his words. His Venus in Pisces tells us that Ewan is in love with love, although the Planet of Love's Square to Jupiter and Neptune brings a search for the truth. Finally, with Mars in Capricorn, there's no doubt that McGregor is a hardworking man with a plan in hand. Sounds about right for a Jedi Knight.
