Baby and me review: MAM Night Soothers
I know people are really divided on dummies but I am totally pro dummy! I had one when I was younger and my teeth are pretty perfect (which is always the worry – bad goofy teeth!). A dummy, or pacifier as they’re often called, is just a comforter and probably more hygienic than thumb sucking!
I had tried a few different makes with Olivia but she would only ever take the Tommy Tippee Newborn ones, even though she is now over six-months-old! She would spit others out and cry, so we just kept using the small ones. Until we got our hands on the MAM Night Soothers...
Two dummies come in a special hygeinic box that you can pop in the microwave to sterilise, use as a travel box or keep the soothers in when they're not being used.
I gave Olivia the dummy to try right away and she kept it in and made that smacking sound like Maggie Simpson – cute!
The sweet, glow-in-the dark design is great as, if the dummy gets dropped in the night, I don’t need to switch on the light and risk waking Olivia up!
MAM state that their products are 'recommended by dentists and orthodontists and have been developed together with healthcare professionals.’ Which is definitely reassuring. The orthodontic teat is designed with babies' jaw and teeth development in mind and is made with MAM's patented silky soft, non-slip silicone.
In our combined opinion this is a great dummy and the glow in the dark aspect is brilliant. I love them so much that I have thrown all the others out and even bought a MAM dummy clip to go with the dummy and attach to Olivia’s clothes, which - incidentantly - is a perfect partner to the perfect dummy!
It's no surprise that the 0+ Night Soother won the Mother & Baby Gold award for Best Newborn Sleep Aid 0-3months, 2011/12, we've converted!
Winner! x
The MAM Night Soothers are available for 0months+ and 6months+, £4.90 for a pack of two soothers at Mamonlineshop.com
