Baby Mama Movie - Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Sigourney Weaver - In Theaters April 25, 2008
The Baby Mama movie opens in theaters on April 25, 2008. It boasts a star-studded comedic cast of former Saturday Night Live stars Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, plus it's produced by Saturday Night Live's longtime producer and writer, Lorne Michaels.
Tina Fey stars in the Baby Mama film as Kate Holbrook, a successful businesswoman who is ready to settle down and have a child. Fans know Tina Fey from her widely successful TV show '30 Rock' which she writes and stars in. Tina Fey wrote for and starred on Saturday Night Live from 1997-2006. She is sure to bring her signature comic genius to the Baby Mama movie.
Amy Poehler stars as Angie Ostrowiski, the South Philly working girl who is going to be a surrogate mother for Kate in the Baby Mama film. Possibly best known for starring on Saturday Night Live from 2001-2007, Amy Poehler has begun to branch out into film roles as well. Fans may recognize her from recent films like Mr. Woodcock, Blades of Glory, and Tenacious D: In the Pick of Destiny. Amy Poehler is a rising comedic star who will, no doubt, shake up Tina Fey's 'straight man' character in the Baby Mama movie.
Veteran film actress Sigourney Weaver also stars in the Baby Mama film as Chafee Bicknell, the steely head of the surrogacy center Kate uses. Sigourney Weaver received Oscar nominations for her roles in Gorillas in the Mist, Working Girl, and Aliens. Perhaps best known for her dramatic roles, it's always fun to watch Sigourney Weaver flex her comedic muscle as she does in the Baby Mama movie.
Greg Kinnear co-stars in the Baby Mama film as Rob, a man who could be 'the one' for Tina Fey's Kate. Well known for both his comedic and dramatic roles, Greg Kinnear has most recently appeared in the hit Little Miss Sunshine. He has also appeared in romantic comedies like As Good As it Gets and Someone Like You. Greg Kinnear is sure to be a hit in the Baby Mama movie.
Lorne Michaels produces the Baby Mama film, as he has many other collaborations with his current and former Saturday Night Live cast members. With almost 40 years of experience as a producer and writer, Lorne Michaels will no doubt add his golden touch to the Baby Mama movie.
Michael McCullers wrote and directed Baby Mama. A former writer for Saturday Night Live in the 90s, Michael McCullers is credited as a writer on the Austin Powers trilogy of films. He makes his directorial debut with the Baby Mama film.
