Should I have hair extensions?

question
What do you think about using hair extensions and what do they cost?

answer
The price of hair extensions can be anything from £50 to £500; not surprisingly, real human hair is the most expensive. Hair extensions can be great fun, and can transform a 'normal' head of hair into a Barbarella-type mane. Occasional use won't hurt your hair, but I don't like permanent extensions because they can cause damage.

Semi-permanent ones - the type you see in fashion shows and in magazines - are glued to the model's own hair. These last from between two days to two weeks, although you do need glue remover to detach them. (On photo shoots we tend to take them out as soon as the model has been photographed.)

For extended use, my favourite extensions are clips. Some of my clients come in to have them fitted to their existing hairstyle - it's possible for the clip to be virtually unnoticeable - and then, at the end of the evening, take them out until the next time they want to show off their thicker, fuller hair.
