What will make my hair grow?
I cut my hair quite short a few years ago and it will not grow back as long as it was. Is there anything I could take to help my hair grow again?
Average hair grows at a rate of a quarter of an inch to half an inch each month - but that's just the average. Diet, medication and lifestyle can all affect hair growth, and hair that is harshly treated can break off, giving the impression that it won't grow.
So what can you do about it? If you treat your hair with special care, you will get results. Use gentle shampoos and always condition after washing. Even if you are desperately trying to grow your hair, I would still recommend that you continue to have your hair trimmed every six to eight weeks; it doesn't need to be much, an eighth of an inch would probably be enough to take off any split ends. All this may take time. But it'll be worth it for a head of long, glossy - and healthy - hair. Good luck!
