I'm embarrassed by my hair

by Heidi Stanton

question
Over the last year I have experienced hair loss in quite large patches on the back of my head. It does seem to have now stopped coming out, but it's very slow at coming back. I feel very embarrassed about it and keep it tied back to disguise it. I really need a good trim because I have lots of split ends, but am too embarrassed to go to the hairdresser. I am 37 and feeling a bit down about the state of my hair.

answer
Please don't be embarrassed by your hair. Find a hairdresser you trust and can relax with and go over your options during a consultation.

You must have a trim to maintain the hair. Your hair growing back is a good sign, but monitor it and if it happens again you must consult a doctor about it. Use gentle products and accessories to suit your hair.
