10 steps to instant evening glamour

If you're going out straight from work, don't panic. You don't need to lug a huge vanity case around with you. Follow these 10 simple tips from colour me beautiful, and you're sure to be the belle of the ball

The secret of perfect evening make-up is to choose products that are a shade or two deeper than your daytime make-up. This way you can be certain that the products suit your colouring and that you'll be pleased with the finished result.

1. If you have time, remove your make-up, moisturise and then start again from a fresh face. If you're really pushed for time, leave your eye make-up in place. Re-apply your foundation lightly and don't forget concealer and powder.
2. When it comes to evening glamour, the eyes are where it's at this season. Accent your eyes by using an eye pencil in a darker shade and an eye shadow in a brighter shade or with a sheen. Apply the pencil a third of the way along your upper lid, working from the outer edge of your eye inwards. For added glitz, a touch of gold or silver powder will give sparkle to your eyes.
3. Emphasise the outer edges of your eyes with mascara to give you that wide-eyed look. If you have very fine eyebrows you might also need to re-apply you eyebrow colour.
