The sultry singer reveals her powder room beauty tips

For radiant skin

Getting enough sleep and lots of water is really important for me. There's definitely some truth behind the old saying 'get your beauty sleep!' My desert island essentials would have to be moisturiser, sunscreen and bottled water.

I also have a regular skincare regime. I wash my face every night before bed, with make-up remover wipes and a gentle cleanser, and always moisturise afterwards. If I had to offer beauty advice, I would say take great care of your skin. Use sunblock early if you have to be in the sun.

For lovely locks

I have no patience for doing my hair. I love playing with make-up and will do my own anytime, but hair is a different story. I just try and take the best care as I can on the road. I try not to over-wash it and keep the tangles out at night using a good conditioner.

For the perfect pout

To achieve Christina's signature red lips, follow her make-up artist, Kristofer Buckle's hot tips:

'I create Christina's signature red lips by first using a well sharpened red lip liner to draw the shape she wants, depending on the look she is going for. Powdering the liner helps to give it staying power and helps stop lipstick from feathering around the mouth.

Then I fill in the entire mouth and gently blot. A red lip is the crown jewel of the face but it has to be done as cleanly as possible so take your time. For Christina, I carry every shade of red imaginable in my make-up bag!'

For femme fatale eyes

For my eyes I apply a base with the pencil and then go over the top with the ink liner, ending in a feline flick. I have a really thick brush for my eyelashes. I do my bottom lashes too, unless I'm wearing false ones on top, in which case I leave the lower lashes bare.

For a sultry scent

Fragrance is a powerful tool of seduction; it's a confidence booster. As a performer, it can help me get into character and makes me feel empowered. It re-affirms my femininity, makes me feel sexy and confident.

My fragrance (EDT) is provocative, sexy, and playful. I also wanted to have a little romantic flair in it with some ingredients reminding me of my honeymoon, like mouthwatering blackcurrant tea or exotic fruit sorbet. There is also a hint of Jasmine. For me, Jasmine is ultra feminine. I have always associated it with old Hollywood glamour.
