What does it involve?
My skin was cleansed and toned using rehydrating products from the Kerstin Florian spa range. A thin layer of Rehydrating Gommage Vegetal - a gentle exfoliating peel - was then applied to my face while a gentle steamer placed above my face opened up pores. Once the peel was removed, my therapist performed a few light extractions before moving on to an acupressure point exercise and face massage using Aroma Akta Anti-stress oil.
Next, a Spiruline mask was brushed onto my face while eye pads were placed over my eyes. While the mask was setting, my therapist performed a wonderfully relaxing scalp massage. After 15 minutes the mask was removed using warm towels, my face was sprayed with Rejuvenating Rose Water before the Vitamin C Ampoule, containing pure vitamin C in 5 per cent concentration, was applied to my face, neck and decolletage.
A thin gauze soaked in Neroli water was then placed over my face while massage globes containing cold water were rolled over the gauze to close the pores, allowing the vitamin C to be absorbed.
After the gauze was removed, a layer of rejuvenating 24-hour Moisture Cream and Rehydrating Eye Cream was applied.
The results
Aside from the obvious high after being so expertly pampered and relaxed, the visible effects of the facial were immediate. My skin felt fresh and looked much brighter. The dose of vitamin C apparently works to stimulate collagen production and boost elasticity. I definitely noticed an improvement to my skin's texture and plumpness.
The potency of the vitamin C in the Ampoule wears off after seven days so I was given the remainder to take away with me and apply morning and night under my moisturiser for the next four days. I usually don't leave the house without wearing foundation, but for a few days after this facial I didn't bother with make-up at all and friends commented on how glowing my skin looked.
