Why did you make this change?
We've moved to a new system in order to improve site stability and to be able to further develop new features and tools within profiles, blogs and other modules.
When did this change happen?
The new system went live at the beginning of November, 2007.
What do I need to do to have my stuff moved to the new system?
Your information has been automatically migrated to the new system, there isn't anything you need to do to make this happen. If you had a profile on our old system, just log in and visit your new profile to find your stuff.
Can I still use the same links to my profile?
No, the new system has a new domain name and link structure, so your profile (as well as your blog entries and photos) has a new URL. Your profile URL should be http://connect.ivillage.co.uk/yourmembername
I can't log in! What happened? Where has all my stuff gone?
We're still working out a few kinks in the system and some accounts are experiencing problems. We're trying to resolve these errors. In the meantime, please contact Customer Service team to report your problem so we can take a look.
My password isn't being accepted, it says I have to update it. Why can't I log in?
Some accounts may have a password synchronisation problem. Please contact us so we can fix your account.
I owned a group, what happened to it?
Your group still exists but, like your profile, it now has a new web address (URL). To work out the link to your group simply add the name of the group to this link http://connect.ivillage.co.uk/groups/name-of-group so, for example, the Craft Corner group is now http://connect.ivillage.co.uk/groups/craft-corner
What happened to my calendar?
Our initial release of 'calendar and events' did not meet the needs and expectations of our members, so we have decided to rethink how to implement this feature. As such, we have decided not to release calendars and events, but will be working hard to implement them very soon.
I have private or restricted photos and video - will I still have the ability to choose my privacy settings?
We respect your privacy and realise you may have items that you only want to share with friends or to remain private. At present privacy settings for new content is not be available. Any previously created content with a private or friends-only restriction will be saved in our system to remain completely private until the privacy options are fully functional.
Can I be able to use rich text (HTML) in my comments?
Over the coming months we will be adding many features that greatly enhance the ability for you to customise your content. In doing so, we want to make sure that any of these rich text customisations work optimally with our new site and changes coming soon. As such, this first release will not allow HTML to be used in comments.
Can I customise my profile with my own backgrounds, HTML coding and widgets?
At present you can't add your own stylesheets, backgrounds or embedded HTML widgets. We are planning to offer a wide selection of styles and widgets soon and hopefully in the future we will be able to also incorporate a "do-it-yourself" option of styling and customising your profile.
I want my profile to be a different color, but you only have one style.
Right now we only have one available style to choose from. Soon we'll offer preset styles you can select to dress up your profile to match your personality and interests. We're also developing other cool features such as iVillage widgets you can easily add to your page.
