There can be no other recipe that uses leftovers as deliciously as this one. Originally this recipe would have contained the leftover roast meat but nowadays we tend to make it as a vegetable dish.
Ingredients
- 500g potatoes, peeled, boiled and mashed
- half a head of Savoy or other cabbage, shredded
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1oz (25g) butter
- salt and pepper

- Heat the butter in a large frying pan and fry the onion until soft, about five minutes. Add the cabbage and mashed potato, season with salt and pepper and fry, turning occasionally with a large fish slice until golden and bubbling hot, about minutes.
