Celebrity love forecast 2009

From Blake and Amy to Tom and Katie, Jane Hoskyn predicts how A-list couples will fair in the love stakes this year
Amy Winehouse and Blake Fielder-Civil
This time last year, Wino was fixated by her jailbird husband, Blake Fielder-Civil. Nothing else mattered: health, looks, career or talent. She was a class-A fool for love.
But with Blake away, Amy started piecing her life together again. She's recently been pictured looking fit and healthy.
She told reporters: 'It's over [with Blake]. We were only together for sex. I fancied him like mad, but that's not enough.'
Well said. Amy gave up everything for a man who didn't deserve her. She's living proof that you don't need a man to be happy or successful. Back to life, rather than back to black.
Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer
The doe-eyed twosome were on again at the time of writing, but we wouldn't bet our lunchbox on their love thang going the distance.
Maybe we're wrong. Cynics probably said the same of Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher, and Courteney Cox and David Arquette. Maybe 2009 will bring a 'Johnifer' wedding and a happy ever after.
Do you care any more than we do? No? Next...
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt
Brangelina gave the world their latest sprogs, Vivienne and Knox Jolie-Pitt, on 12 July 2008. But the couple, who reportedly employ 14 bodyguards, three cooks and two nannies to look after their six kids, aren't getting married just yet.
Pitt, a vocal supporter of gay marriage, told Esquire magazine: 'Angie and I will consider tying the knot when everyone else in the country who wants to be married is legally able.'
This year is likely to bring more of the same from Brangelina. Wherever baby number seven is coming from, we wouldn't be shocked to see it by 2010.
Samantha Ronson and Lindsay Lohan
Sam and Li-Lo ended 2008 as the world's sexiest lesbians, but few celeb-watchers would expect them to last another year together.
Lindsay raised eyebrows when she told reporters that she'd go straight back to dating men if she and Sam ever split up.
However, she did also say that she's head over heels in love with Mark's sis. A forever-and-ever relationship may be too much to hope for - Lindsay is only 22, after all - but you never know.
Whatever happens, please don't let Calum Best get back in there.
Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise
Cover your eyes. Tom Cruise is reportedly roping Katie into a remake of the filthy (and not very good) old flick Last Tango in Paris.
No, really, cover your eyes. Here's the plot: A young Parisian woman begins a sordid affair with a middle-aged American businessman who lays out ground rules that their clandestine relationship will be based only on sex.
It's Eyes Wide Shut all over again. Shortly after displaying a knuckle-biting lack of chemistry with Nicole Kidman in that movie, Cruise and Kidman split up. Is history about to repeat itself?
Rumours of marital wobbles abounded during 2008 but we can?t see a break-up on the horizon.
The Cruises have a young daughter and several homes. If there are strains in the relationship, they can afford to get plenty of space while staying married.
Kate Moss and Jamie Hince
Since the days of Mr Depp, Kate has never allowed a relationship to overshadow her solo superstardom. Even tabloid favourite Pete Doherty looked like a hanger-on. (Pete who? Quite.)
Throughout 2008, sunny days with rocker boyfriend Jamie Hince, 39, seemed outnumbered by storms. There were at least two temporary splits.
Some reports claimed that Hince, like Jefferson Hack (father to Kate's daughter Lila), lost patience with her partying. Others claimed that Kate wanted to settle down and Jamie didn't.
An on-off relationship like this tends to settle into 'off', especially when there's a child involved and the parent wants to minimise disruption. So will they split or survive? It's too close to call.
Katie Price and Peter Andre
Flick through the celeb pages, and you'd think that Katie/Jordan pays more attention to her ever-changing boobs and imaginary back fat than to her husband.
Domesticity and parenthood may finally have taken the buzz out of their relationship. It happens to the best of us.
But we think there's plenty of life in this twosome yet. Katie is a doting mum, and fiercely protective of her brand. It's unlikely that she'll allow relationship ups and downs get in the way.
This time next year, expect plenty more rumours of bust-ups in the Price-Andre household - and another series of Katie and Peter: The Next Chapter. But don't expect a divorce.
