Chilli Sausage and Chick Pea Hot Pot

- 450g traditional sausages
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 small onions, sliced
- 2 tbsp chilli powder
- 6 tbsp tomato chutney
- 2 tbsp tomato purée
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp red wine vinegar
- 1 tsp soft brown sugar
- 400g canned tomatoes
- 440g canned chick peas
- salt and freshly ground black pepper
- mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli, to serve

- Grill the sausages, following the instructions on the pack. When cooked, stand for minutes then slice thickly. Put to one side.
- Meanwhile, heat the oil over a medium heat in a large saucepan and fry the onion for minutes. Stir in the chilli and cook for a further minutes.
- Add all the sausages and the remaining ingredients. Season to taste. Cover and simmer for minutes. Serve with mashed potato and steamed broccoli.
