Effectively just spicy cheese on toast, these delicious little snacks are the perfect party food – and are particularly nice when you get back from the pub
 

Ingredients

  • 1 French baguette, sliced on the diagonal into finger-thick slices
  • 2 cloves garlic, roughly chopped
  • 2 spring onions, sliced
  • 1 tbsp chilli powder
  • 100g butter
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 50g Gruyère cheese, grated
Serves: 15 Preparation: 20 Cook Time: 5 Total Time: 25min whats this
 

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to //gas mark Place the garlic, spring onions, chilli powder, butter and olive oil in the small bowl of a food processor and whiz until smooth.
  2. Spread the paste on to the bread slices and sprinkle over the cheese. Bake until golden on top and the cheese melted and bubbly. Serve immediately.
