How do Hollywood's leading ladies get in shape for the red carpet? We spill the behind-the-scenes beans
Kate Winslet
Kate has undergone a remarkable transformation from English Rose to full-blown, size 6, A-list star, but the 33-year-old swears it's down to Pilates alone.
If reports are to be believed, her new svelte shape is not down to a personal trainer, but to Pilates DVD workouts in the comfort of her own home
Anne Hathaway
The Rachel Getting Married star has got slimmer over the past year. She puts it down to 'food sensitivities'.
'I know it sounds like code for "I'm anorexic" but I'm lactose intolerant and can't eat spicy or fried foods,' says Anne.
She adds: 'I'd rather be strong than skinny.'
Angelina Jolie
According to a friend of the Changeling star, Angelina has been cutting out the junk and getting her fitness regime back on track after giving birth to twins Knox and Vivienne.
However, she insists: 'I've never been a fitness fantastic. I'm lucky, I can eat pretty much what I want.'
Someone should tell her, making comments like that ain't gonna win her many friends
Scarlett Johansson
She admits she has youth on her side, but Scarlett is no gym junkie.
'I'm not really the type of girl who goes to the gym for three hours a day and gets up to go jogging at 6am,' she says.
'If I had done an hour of working in the gym in the morning, I'd feel so great about myself for the next three days I'd be like, "I can eat whatever I want. I went to the gym for an hour three days ago!"'
Cameron Diaz
The 34-year-old says the key to looking good is to love yourself.
'I try not to judge myself at the same level as other people judge me,' she says. 'When I look in the mirror, it's usually for work.
'When I look in the mirror for myself, I look at the things I like about myself and try to make them even more fun and even more likeable for myself.'
Or if that fails, invest in some fantastic footwear!
'I really do not know how many pairs I own,' she confesses. 'It runs into many, many dozens. Maybe hundreds!'
Jennifer Lopez
Despite her reputation, 'Jenny from the Block' insists her beauty regime is low-key.
She says: 'My routine is really basic. I don't have any crazy secrets, like sleeping upside down or whatever!
'I just try to take care of myself, because it's so easy to get lazy, and not cleanse your skin and put moisturiser on before you go to bed, or use conditioner on your hair when you can.'
Renee Zellweger
She gained attention for the weight she put on for Bridget Jones and the speed with which she shed the extra pounds, but the Oscar-winning actress insists she is bored of talking about it.
'I love the English obsession with beans on toast for breakfast,' she laughs. 'I have it every day. I don't understand it when I read that I don't eat carbs. I do!'
Jennifer Aniston
'I run and sweat and feel it,' says Jen of her keep-fit regime.
'You get addicted to the euphoric feeling of getting up and having a good sweat. It wakes your body up. I also do yoga, and I eat well.'
But Jen, 37, adds: 'You're damned if you're too thin, and you're damned if you're too heavy. It's impossible to satisfy everyone and I suggest we all stop trying.'
Beyonce Knowles
She dropped 20lbs for her role in Dreamgirls, then had the 'best time' of her life tucking into junk food and piling it all back on.
She has had to put the brakes on her eating to get back into 'bootylicious' shape for her world tour, but she loves her womanly shape.
'I'm happy with curves, I'm a real woman,' she says. 'Normally, I'm the worst,' she adds. 'I eat bad, I don't even wash my face, I don't put on lotion. Oh, that's terrible but it's the truth.'
Halle Berry
Curvy Halle Berry has one of the most envied bodies in the world but being diabetic means she follows a fairly strict diet. Halle keeps her fitness fun and she loves to roller-blade.
'I take my dogs and skate,' she says. She is also a big fan of the beach and adds: 'I like to go there to find peace and unwind.'
Sandra Bullock
She looks fantastic at 42 and says her secret is due to the fact she doesn't put pressure on herself. She admits she doesn't even try to battle the bulge before a big event.
'I sabotage myself,' she laughs. 'Before I put myself into an outfit, I just start to eat a lot. I don't know what's wrong with me.'
