I don't like fruit or salad
I have PCOS and have been trying for a baby for several years. I know I need to follow a healthy diet for this to happen. I am the ideal weight for my height but have started to put on weight recently.
I have been trying to follow the low Gi diet but I just don't like fruit or salads. I do eat vegetables - about two servings a day - and fruit juice. Is taking a multi-vitamin enough to compensate for the lack of fruit and salads?
I was considering seeing a nutritionist for a diet plan, however, I'm not sure if it would be a waste of money as they'll tell me to eat fruit and salad. How much I would expect to pay?

When it comes down to it, although it is harder for women with PCOS to lose weight, the basic principles of weight management are the same. Some doctors would recommend a prescription of Metformin and sometimes even weight-loss drugs. Ten per cent body weight reduction can lead to a 14-fold rise in pregnancy rates.
You're quite right, any good nutritionist would advise you to eat at least five portions of fruit and vegetables per day. I would anticipate it would cost you between £50 and £100 to get an appointment, so why not save yourself the trouble and find some kinds of fruit that you do actually like?
The benefits of a healthy diet in PCOS are immense and I would encourage you to do whatever you can to control your weight and eat healthily. A good GP would be able to offer you helpful advice on how to do this.
