Veggie diet suggestions & websites

question

I'm a vegetarian struggling to lose weight. I eat plenty of fruit and veg, and good healthy options in almost all ways except one and that's dairy.

I eat too much cheese and cheese-based dishes. Nuts are high in fat so I keep those to a minimum. All diets seem to centre around chicken and fish as low cal options for main meals.

Any other ideas and any good websites?

answer

You already know your downfall, which is a good starting place. You won't lose weight eating large amounts of cheese because it contains 40 per cent fat and some cheeses have even more.

We would recommend opting for increased soya products - including tofu, tempeh and quorn, eggs (if you eat them), seeds and a small amount of mixed nuts (one palmful per day) except peanuts and brazil nuts.

Don't forget about chick peas, lentils and beans.
