The A-list ladies looking swell

continued from page 1

Kate Winslet

Kate Winslet Curvy Kate, 31, admits she is never going to be a stick insect, and her generous frame also means she has size 11 feet. She has never been afraid to bare her voluptuous figure, as demonstrated by her roles in Titanic, Romance and Cigarettes and, more recently, Little Children.

Food philosophy

'I'm certainly not a sex symbol who doesn't eat,' declares the British beauty. 'I accept I am a womanly shape. I try to take care of myself but I am not freaky about it. I still eat things I shouldn't, smoke too much, but never around the kids, work out when I have to rather than when I want to.'

Looking good

Kate's body has come under intense scrutiny throughout her career, and she has taken on the challenge of championing the cause of curvy women.

'I'm proud,' she says. 'I like the way I look. Why is it that women think that in order to be adored they have to be thin? I just don't understand that way of thinking. All I know from the men I've ever spoken to is that they like their girls to have an arse on them.'

Top treats

'I like Marmite on toast,' says Kate, who also has a fondness for curry and Chinese food.

Beyonce Knowles

Beyonce Knowles Her weight has been the subject of much attention of late after she lost more than a stone for a film role, but Beyonce, 25, was delighted to get back into her low-maintenance regime as soon as filming was done. 'At the wrap party, the day after filming they had these cupcakes,' she giggles. 'I ate about 12!'

Food philosophy

'A bit of what you fancy' is the motto for the Texan lovely, who admits to craving fried chicken. 'When I'm working, I do take care of myself,' says the singer and actress. 'The only good thing is I work a lot so I try to eat healthily and stay away from bad food.'

Looking good

'I'm happy with curves, I'm a real woman,' says Beyonce, whose shapely thighs and bum caught the eye of her rapper fiance Jay-Z. She explains: 'I am not naturally skinny. The pressure that people put you under, the pressure to be thin, is unbelievable. The song Bootylicious is a celebration of curves and a celebration of women's bodies.'

Top treats

Slimming down for her role in Dreamgirls meant Beyonce got to scoff all the junk food she wanted once filming was over. 'I ordered fries, and I had ribs, and I ate pasta, and I drank red wine,' says the Crazy In Love singer, who also adores Krispy Kreme doughnuts. 'I ate cheeseburgers, French fries; everything I could find. That was the best time of my life.'
