4. Jiu Jitsu (Available at The Third Space)
  • What it is: Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (different to the Japanese Ju Jitsu) is a wrestling art form where your task is to put an opponent into various holds until he or she submits or escapes.
  • Key benefits: Focuses on muscular endurance, so it's strength, not size, that counts.
  • Level of difficulty: It can be very hard if you're opponent is experienced, but beginner, intermediate and advanced classes are offered to ensure that you are suitably matched with someone.

5. Box Clever (Available at The Third Space)

  • What it is: Unlike boxercise classes that involve a range of punching exercises in an aerobic workout set to music, Box Clever allows you to box in an actual ring with an instructor. Classes may also involve supervised boxing outside the ring using contact pads, punch bags, skipping and light hand weights.
  • Key benefits: Combines aerobic activity with muscular toning and improves balance and coordination.
  • Level of difficulty: Considered one of the harder, more physically demanding classes on offer. However, you can take it lightly and at your own pace.
