Vitamins for energy
Are there any vitamins I can take to boost my energy levels?
Not really. You may simply need to get more rest, but if you continue feeling fatigued you should consult your doctor to rule out any underlying medical conditions. In the meantime, a well-balanced healthy diet combining foods from all the major food groups, especially fruits and vegetables, will provide you a good supply of vitamins and minerals and help sustain energy levels.
Reducing the amounts of refined sugars and starches in your diet and switching to more nutritious foods rich in fibre, iron, wholegrain cereals, pasta and wholemeal bread should help too. These foods tend to be digested slowly and help to keep blood sugar levels stable. Eating small amounts of food every 4 hours can stabilise these blood sugar levels and give you energy throughout the day. If you still feel your fatigue is due to a lack of something in your diet, try a standard multivitamin supplement.
