Discover your wild side
No comments
We Brits are known as a nation of animal lovers, so why not indulge this passion on your next holiday? Here, travel specialists www.greenbee.com share their personal favourites to allow you to reveal your inner beast!
First stop: Galapagos
Ecuador may be one of the smallest countries in South America, but it is also the gateway to the unique wildlife habitat of the Galapagos Islands - an animal lover's paradise - with opportunities to observe some of the rarest, and tamest, wild animals at very close quarters.
Holiday here and you can experience Ecuador's spectacular landscapes before embarking on a cruise around the Galapagos Islands. See the famous Galapagos giant tortoises and iguanas, snorkel in search of sea lions, penguins and sea turtles, or watch out for dolphin pods. Bird lovers can indulge their twitching fantasises by watching blue-footed boobies dance or albatross raising their young.

Hunt elephants in Botswana
Botswana is home to some of the most pristine wildlife viewing in Africa, with its many national parks and private game reserves making it one of Africa's finest safari destinations.
Explore the exceptionally beautiful Okavango Delta and the dramatic Chobe National Park, which is home to a huge concentration of elephants as well as top predators such as lions (prides of up to 40 are not uncommon) and leopards. You'll have great opportunities to get up close to the animals in either open land cruisers, on foot (with specialist guides) or by mokoro (dugout canoe).
Top tip:During the dry season (from June to October) animals, including hippo, cheetah and buffalo, congregate around the few watering holes, but if you visit during the green season (from November to February) you'll see amazing migrant birds as well as stunning landscapes.
