Decoction for Colds and Flu

A delicious, soothing herbal brew that also acts as a cleansing medicine

INGREDIENTS:

2 tsp grated fresh ginger root
juice of ½ lemon
1 tsp grated lemon zest
1 cardamom pod (optional)
1 clove (optional)
1 cinnamon stick (optional)
honey, to taste


PREPARATION:
1. Place all the ingredients, except for the honey, in a small saucepan.

2. Add 3 cups water, bring to the boil and simmer for 10 minutes.

3. Strain through a fine sieve or tea strainer and add honey to taste.

This can be drank as a tea. Note: Not suitable for babies or small children
