Spicy Lamb Jalfrezi

Cooking in the oven develops the deep rich spicy flavours in this classic Indian dish

Dish Details:


INGREDIENTS:

2 tbsp vegetable oil
350g Good quality lamb - cubed
240g spicy jalfrezi Sauce
½ Red pepper - sliced
2-3 Shallots, cut in half and into wedges


PREPARATION:
1. Preheat the oven to 160°C fan, 180°C conventional, gas 5.

2. Heat 1 Tbsp oil in a wok or deep-sided frying pan; add the lamb and fry for 5 minutes until brown.

3. Place the lamb in a medium size casserole, pour over the Jalfrezi Sauce, cover with a tight fitting lid or foil and cook for 75 - 90 hours or until the lamb is tender.

4. shallots and red pepper in the remaining oil until golden.

5. Spoon the vegetables over the Jalfrezi and serve immediately.

Delicious served with warm naan bread, mango chutney and puppodums
