Before your guests arrive:1. Preheat the oven to 220C/425F/gas mark 7.
2. Take wrappings off the pizza bases, empty the tomato purée into a bowl.
3. Cook any toppings if necessary e.g. grill or fry bacon then cut into strips.
4. Slice any vegetable toppings into strips or rings and put on to plates. (Alternatively, provide sharp knives for chopping and you can get your guests to do all the work.)
5. Put all the ingredients on the table with lots of kitchen towels or napkins.
To eat:
1. Spread a pizza base thinly with 2 tbsp of tomato purée.
2. Layer with several different toppings. Be creative you could offer a prize for the most beautiful pizza, or most unusual combination of ingredients.
3. Scatter the top with mozzarella.
4. Season with black pepper. If you want to add an egg, now is the moment to break it over the top (quails eggs look great).
5. Drizzle a little olive oil around the edge of the pizza base (and, if youre not using cheese, over the top as well).
6. Transfer to a baking tray and cook for 1015 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbling.
