Pork with ginger~181
Ingredients:
500g (1lb 2oz) thin-cut pork loin steaks
2 tbsp sunflower oil
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
salt and freshly ground black pepper
sauteed thinly sliced red pepper and mangetout to garnish

MARINADE:
50g/2oz fresh root ginger, peeled, grated and squeezed for the juice
4 tbsp Kikkoman soy sauce
3 tbsp dry white ine of Japanese sake

Directions:
Marinade the pork steaks in a non-metallic bowl with the ginger juice, soy sauce and white wine or sake for at least 30 mins.


Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a frying pan and stir fry the onion for 4-5 mins or until softened. Set aside.


Heat the remaining oil in the same frying pan and fry the pork steaks for 6 mins, turning occasionally. Add the marinade and fry for a further 1 min.


Place the fried onion on a serving plate, top with the pork steaks and drizzle with the sauce. Garnish with sauteed red pepper and mangetout and serve with a bowl of noodles or rice.
