Garlic and mushroom burgers

These tasty burgers are ideal for a kid's meal and are perfect for vegetarians
 

Ingredients

  • 4 portobello or field mushrooms, stalks trimmed
  • 1 tsp sunflower oil
  • 50g gruyere, grated
  • 1 clove of garlic, crushed
  • 1 tbsp soft butter
  • 4 ciabatta or burger buns, split and toasted
Serves: 4       whats this
 

Directions

  1. Grill/bbq the mushrooms.
  2. Rub the mushrooms with the oil and set on a baking sheet. Grill for two mins on each side until cooked, but still firm.
  3. Mix the cheese, garlic and butter in a bowl and season, then spoon into the mushrooms.
  4. Grill until the cheese melts, then stuff into toasted buns.
