Eating Disorder
I'm not sure if this is something that you're able to help with or not.
I've suffered with bulimia for about eight years and I just don't know how to stop this. It rules my life.
I look at my body and I just see a massive person staring at me. I'm 5'5 and weigh 9st 9lb so I know I'm not overweight, but no matter how many times I tell myself this and people say I look good I just don't see it.
Can we ever be happy with how we look?

It must be difficult to be in your shoes and so unable to feel OK in your body. Obviously if you have had the problem for a long time, it is not going to disappear overnight. There are lots of things you can do to try to help yourself. One is to try to break that way of eating/not eating by reintroducing yourself to the basics of hunger and satisfaction. This isn't easy but if you look at my book, Susie Orbach On Eating (Penguin £4.99), it will gently guide you through to eating in an ordinary way again.
It will also ask you lots of questions, which you can reflect on privately, such as 'if I didn't have this problem, what would I be doing?' The reason to ask yourself this is because your bulimia becomes a way you can stop yourself doing things you think you want to be doing and it is important to work out that you can do things whether or not you are bulimic.
Accepting oneself is a big struggle if you have been undermining yourself for a long time but it is essential in trying to get out of the problem. Try looking at some pictures of yourself and see how they affect you. Try looking in the mirror and not judging, just seeing...
Good luck in your struggle.
