What to watch out for
Vigorous manipulation should be avoided if you have badly prolapsed (‘slipped’) discs. Manipulation may not be advisable if you have osteoporosis, inflammation, infections, tumours, circulatory problems or a recent fracture.

How much does it cost?
An initial diagnostic session is about 30–60 minutes, and subsequent sessions last 15–20 minutes. Average fees for a first visit are £20–£50.

This is the professional regulatory body with a list of practitioners. Since June 2001, anyone describing him or herself as a chiropractor is required by law to be registered with the GCC.
