Endometriosis on my ovaries

by Dr Sarah Brewer

question

I was diagnosed with endometriosis on my ovaries one year ago. I had surgery to remove adhesions from my fallopian tubes, bowel and womb. At the time of surgery I was advised that my fallopian tubes were clear and to all intents and purposes my reproductive organs had not been damaged.

Six months ago I was put on Depo Provera to manage my endometriosis. However I have suffered from extreme side effects - mood swings, permanent bleeding and acne. I have decided to come off the injection but what are my options?

answer
Your best option is to contact the Simply Holistic Endometriosis Trust, tel: 0870 7743665 for help and advice. They can provide information on all the treatment options - including complementary approaches - and help you make the right decision for you. The National Endometriosis Society can also provide information on orthodox approaches.
