Menstrual migraine
Every month, the week before my period, I get the most terrible headache. It normally lasts for two days and is really intense. I don't think it's at migraine level, but my vision goes a bit weird and I feel very dazed and clumsy, even after taking headache pills. Then, during my period I always get a bad headache on the second or third day. This has been going on for four or five months now and I reckon it must be related to my periods. I'm on the Pill and have been on it for nearly five years. Is there anything I can do to help?
It does sound as if you may have menstrual migraine, which is a recognised condition that your doctor will be able to treat. Your doctor also needs to review whether or not you should remain on the Pill. Do seek help as soon as possible. You can obtain more information about this condition from Migraine Action on 01536 461333.
