Are mismatched boobs abnormal?

My right boob is bigger than my left. It looks as if I've got mismatched boobs as my nipple on my right is bigger. Am I abnormal?

answer
This is one of the most common questions I receive in my 'agony aunt post-bag'. The majority of women (including me!) have one breast bigger than the other - for some reason it is usually the left side that is largest. Usually, the difference is not very noticeable, but you can buy inserts to help pad out one side if necessary. If the discrepancy is significant, your GP may be willing to refer you to a sympathetic breast surgeon on the NHS, but the waiting list for 'cosmetic' ops is usually long.
