Swollen after sex

After I have sex, I find both my inner vaginal lips are extremely swollen (much larger than the outer lips) and extremely painful, and it stings when I pass urine. I had sex more than 12 hours ago and am still in extreme pain, as one of the lips is still swollen. I find it very uncomfortable to cross my legs and wear trousers. I have also noticed that over the lip there is a white thick discharge.

Don't put off seeking help! Make an appointment at your local GUM (Genitio-Urinary Medicine) clinic for a check-up, to ensure there is no bacterial imbalance or hidden infection. Part of the problem may be an allergy to spermicides or gel, or friction, especially if you are dry. Try using a lubricant such as Bio-Fem Actigel, which is also soothing.
