Do go to your nearest genito-urinary medicine (GUM) clinic for a full check-up as you need to be screened for sexually transmissible infections such as Chlamydia. You can find out details of the clinic by phoning your local hospital. Don't be embarrassed as the clinic staff will treat everything you say in total confidence. They can also provide information on safer sex, give you a supply of condoms, give you details of family planning clinics or answer any questions about sex that you may have.
