Chronic skin complaint caused by excessive sweating
Could you please give me some information on pompholyx eczema as I have had this for seven years and really dont know what causes it? I have never suffered skin complaints before.
I don't know where you have the problem but it is usually a feature of the palms of the hands, soles of the feet and/or the spaces between the fingers and toes. I hope it's not all of these areas.
These superficial or deep blister lesions are usually always associated with the sweat glands of the skin. They usually occur in people who have a problem with excessive sweating. Usually it is aggravated by emotional upset (as this causes increased sweating in most of us) or in conditions that activate the sweat glands. It is regarded as a peculiar form of dermatitis, and like any dermatitis, it tends to be annoying and chronic. Treatments are not easy - as you have found - but usually the disease burns out at some point.
