What causes headaches?
I have been suffering from headaches for a few months. I wake up with one and often go to sleep with one. I have been taking Nurofen but this no longer has an effect. The pain seems to be at the front of my head. I do wear glasses but have recently had my eyes checked. I take the antidepressant fluoxetine and wonder if this could have anything to do with it.
Several things may be causing headaches in your case, and without more information I cannot give a complete answer. Tension headaches can be one of the symptoms of depression. The problem with taking regular painkillers is that they can cause headaches rather than relieve them - doctors call them analgesic headaches. Headaches are one of the reported side-effects of antidepressant drugs of the SSRI group, of which fluoxetine is one. So there are several possible causes for your problem. You need to go back to your doctor to discuss this.
