What are the National Lottery Awards?
Discover the winning Lottery-funded project, in this year's
National Lottery Awards ceremony on 30th August 2008 on BBC 1.
Now entering their fifth successful year, the Awards recognise the difference that Lottery-funded projects - both large and small - make to local communities, as well as celebrate the achievements of the people behind them. This year iVillage.co.uk is the proud sponsor of the health category.
Radio and TV presenter Gethin Jones is an Ambassador for this year's National Lottery Awards, he says, 'Each week Lottery players raise a staggering £25 million for Good Causes and this money helps projects like these transform the lives of people and places across the UK.'
'The National Lottery Awards recognise the talent and hard work of the people involved in running Lottery-funded projects just like these. We want to thank these everyday heroes by highlighting their fantastic work, so please get behind them and give them your vote today.'
The final round of public voting took place between 21 July - 8 August, with three projects competing in each category. The project with the most votes in each category will win, and the winner of each category will be announced on a special BBC1 programme, to be shown on 30th August 2008.
