Keyhole surgery for hysterectomy
Can you tell me if keyhole surgery is available in the UK for prolapse surgery and hysterectomy? I have only seen references to traditional surgery and I am concerned about the post-operative recovery time.
Keyhole surgery is available for treating many gynaecological conditions in the UK. As far as prolapse surgery and hysterectomy goes the number of surgeons so far with a great deal of experience is not long, but is growing. This type of surgery is not suitable for everyone and you would need to discuss your case individually with your GP and gynaecologist.
