Can I conceive with a yeast infection?

I have a yeast infection and I am due to ovulate in three days. Will the yeast infection make it difficult or dangerous for me to conceive?

answer
I would not treat the infection until your post-ovulatory phase of the cycle. The creams and suppositories used in treating yeast infections may have some effect on sperm transport and vaginal pH.

There is no harm in trying to conceive or getting pregnant with a current yeast infection. This infection is confined to the vagina and does not change the pH of the vagina enough to prevent conception.

It would be important after conception to rule out other types of vaginal and cervical infections such as chlamydia, gonorrhoea, group B strep or bacterial vaginosis that may have negative effects on the pregnancy. But for now, yeast should have no effect.
