Contraception pill and time difference when travelling
I am on the pill (Loestrin 20) and I take it everyday at 6pm. I am going to America next week, where there is a 5 hour time difference. Do I take my pill at the same time as usual or 5 hours earlier?
Thanks Emma
Hello Emma,
Try to keep your pill on a 24 hour clock. In other words, take your first pill in America/on the plane, exactly 24 hours after your last one in the UK lets hope that it isnt at an inconvenient time. It is important to do this because, with Loestrin, there is a very small dose of Oestrogen (20mg compared with the usual dose of 30mg). Therefore, you want to make sure it works. Keep the pills at 24-hour intervals.
Have a great time!
