For 2nd and 3rd sizes only

Work [24:30] rows inc 1 st at each end of every following 6th row (there will be 5 rows straight between each increase row). You will now have [49:53] sts on the needle.

For all 4 sizes

Work without further shaping until the sleeve is 15 [17:20:24]cm, (6 [6 1/2:8:9 1/2]in), finishing after a purl row.

Shape Sleeve Top

Cast off 2 [3:3:3] sts at beginning of each of the next 4 [10:14:10] rows. You will now have 35 [19:11:27] sts on the needle.

For 1st, 2nd and 4th sizes only

Cast off 3 [4:4] sts at beginning of the next 8 [2:4] rows. You will now have 11 [11:11] sts on the needle.

For all 4 sizes

Cast off remaining 11 sts.

Right front border

Using your smaller needles pick up and knit sts for right front border as follows:-
With right side of the work facing you and starting at lower edge of right front, pick up and knit 27 [33:43:55] sts evenly along straight edge, finishing at beginning of neck shaping.
Work 3 rows in moss stitch.

For a Girl

Next Row. Moss stitch 2 [2:2:2], patt2tog, yfwd, (moss stitch 8 [11:10:14], patt2tog, yfwd) 2 [2:3:3] times, moss st 3.
Work 3 rows in moss stitch.
Cast off in moss stitch

For a Boy

Work 4 rows in moss stitch.
Cast off in moss stitch.

left front border

Using your smaller needles pick up and knit sts for left front border as follows:- With right side of the work facing you and starting at neck shaping of left front pick up and knit 27 [33:43:55] sts evenly along straight edge, finishing at lower edge of left front.
Work 3 rows in moss stitch.

For a Boy

Next Row. Moss stitch 3, yfwd, patt2tog, (moss stitch 8 [11:10:14], yfwd, patt2tog) 2 [2:3:3] times, moss stitch 2 [2:2:2].
Work 3 rows in moss stitch.
Cast off in moss stitch.

For a Girl

Work 4 rows in moss stitch.
Cast off in moss stitch.
