Green ideas for midge repellent and sunburn therapy
We live in Scotland, the home of the midgie and other flying beasties. Do you know of a tried and tested repellent that doesn't contain any nasties that will keep these blood-thirsty critters away? If there is one to repel wasps I'd be eternally grateful as I hate the blighters (even if they do have a benefit in the garden). Following on from that perhaps ideas for natural first aid, sunburn, stings, bites etc.

We interviewed Fat Boy Slim on Radio 2 - he's off to Loch Lomond to see some midges! The only thing I can really recommend is essential oil of citronella - insects generally don't seem to like it. Regarding sunburn, I have tons of ideas in my book. Neat lavender oil it's the best for burns and of course aloe vera straight from the plant.
