Where can I find a natural suncream?

question

Hi,

I was wondering if you knew of a natural suncream that I could use? I have really sensitive skin and use organic skincare (Henry Tianus) but they don't do a suncream.

I do sometimes use Green People's one, but it only goes up to a factor 22. I really need a factor 30+ and preferably a 50 as I burnt last week using a factor 30 (which I topped up regularly).

answer

Suncare is one of my BIG things - I think you need to think of the bigger picture - heliotherapy, the healing effects of the sun. Of course I'm not stupid enough to say go out unprotected or lie out in it and burn, but neither do I advocate slapping on a ton of chemical creams. One of my fab imperfectly natural people in the book calls sunscreen 'cancer in a bottle' - most are loaded with parabens, perfumes and petrochemicals.

The Green People one is good, I love their organic sunscreen for children. But I think the best is by Urtrekram, a Danish company, with its oh-so-pure ingredients. www.urtekram.dk.
